Bulk Trash

You may put 1 (one) bulk item out per week. If you want to put out a rug, you must cut it into 4 ft long sections which don't exceed 40 lbs each, roll them up, and tie them.  Each piece counts as one bulk item.

Hazardous Household Waste (HHW) Disposal

Bring unwanted hazardous household automotive products, home maintenance, lawn and pest control products to the next Regional Southeastern Pennsylvania Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection.

  • Collections dates for 2010 (all times are 9am to 3pm)  for information about locations, please see our calendar.
    • Saturday, April 10 - HHW and Computers - CAT Pickering, 1580 Charlestown Rd, Phoenixville- computers accepted
    • Saturday, May 15 - HHW - Owen J. Roberts, 981 Ridge Road, Pottstown - no computers accepted
    • Friday, June 25 - HHW and Computers - CAT Brandywine Campus, 1635 E. Lincoln Hwy, Coatewville - computers accepted
    • Saturday, September 11 - HHW - New Garden Mainenance Building, 8934 Gap Newport Road, Landenberg- no computers accepted
    • Saturday, October 9- HHW and Computers - Government Services Center, 601 Westtown Road, West Chester -computers accepted
  • Unacceptable materials:  Latex paint*, explosives, ammunition, appliances, radioactive waste, tires*, infectious waste, unidentified waste.
  • Pack HHW safely in original containers for transport.
  • Mercury will be accepted - please pack safely.

*Air dry or absorb latex paint and dispose of with trash.  Recycle motor oil, tires and anti-freeze at your local service station.

 

Words identifying HHW's: CAUTION, EXPLOSIVE, TOXIC, REACTIVE, DANGER, COMBUSTIBLE, FLAMMABLE, POISONOUS, WARNING, HAZARDOUS, CORROSIVE.

   

Disposing of Appliances with Freon

If you need to dispose of an applicance with freon in it, you will need to call an applicance store to remove the freon and place a confirmation sticker on the item. You also will need to call the Township to schedule an appointment for pickup.
