East Fallowfield Building Codes and Enforcement

For ordinance code enforcement, if you require an inspection or for zoning questions call Rob McLarnon of Keystone Municipal at 484-325-0041 between the hours of 8am-3pm. Absolutely no calls will be taken after 3 pm.

If you would like to make a complaint regarding the noise Ordinance (2008-02) call Rob McLarnon on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am-3pm. If it is after his hours call the Police Station at 610-384-9163 or County Radio at 610-383-7000. Do not leave a message, a Officier or the Code Official has to see the violation.

For other violations such as cars parked on the street, high grass etc. you can call the Township between the hours of 7am and 5pm M-F.

All inspections are conducted by the Township except electrical which are done by United Electric.

To order an electric inspection call United Electric at 1-215-542-9977 or fax your request to 1-215-540-9721. You must provide your name, your address, the date and time and the type of inspection you are requesting.

For all other inspections fax your request to 610-384-7143 with the same information. Rob McLarnon will get back to you. The Township office does not have information regarding when the inspection will be done.

It is the resident's and/or contractor's responsibility to make sure everything is in a permit application when submitted.

If your permit application is not complete it will be deemed incomplete and denied. Our office will not hold onto permits and wait for any information.

The following projects must have a permit:

• New Home Construction
• Solar Panels (Building Subcode permit)
• Decks
• Finished Basements
• Swimming Pools - any size
• Garages
• Barns
• Porches
• Sheds
• Roofs (not siding)
• Windows, if you are increasing the size or putting in an egress window (5.7s.f.)

THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE LIST. IF YOU PLAN ON DOING ANY HOME RENOVATIONS NOT LISTED PLEASE CALL TO THE TOWNSHIP OFFICE TO SEE IF A PERMIT IS REQUIRED.

SOLAR PANEL

If the solar panel is going on top of the roof you will need a report from an engineer saying the roof will hold the solar panel.

FENCES

If you are installing a fence under 6 feet you need a zoning application if you are installing a fence over 6 feet you need a zoning and building application.

Please be aware that for those residents who live in a development with an established Home Owners Associtation it is very important that a letter from the HOA  be submitted with your application. If a letter is not submitted with your application it will be deemed incomplete and will delay processing your permit.

Any conflicts regarding deed restriction must be dealt with through your HOA. The Township does not have jurisdiction over this issue.

HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATIONS

Please be aware that for those residents who live in a development with an established Home Owners Association it is very important that a letter from the President of the HOA accompany an exterior work permit application submitted to the Township Office. If a letter is not submitted with your application it will be deemed incomplete and will delay processing your permit.

Any conflicts regarding deed restrictions must be dealt with through your Home Owners Association. The Township does not have jurisdiction over this issue.
