A) If you have questions concerning your local income tax please contact either Central Tax which represents the Township at 1-570-822-0555 or Berkhiemer which represents the school district at 1-800-360-8989. Your locat 1% tax is divided evenly between both. East Fallowfield Township does not have a real estate tax. 

B) If you would like a trash cert. for a resident's trash bill, please send your payment with a trash cert. letter with the name of the owner, the buyer, the tax parcel number and settlement date to East Fallowfield Township, 2264  Strasburg Road, E. Fallowfield. PA 19320. See EFT Ordianance 2008-08 for appropriate fees. (This bill is leinable) 

C) You do not need a Use and Occupancy for a resale of a home.

What is the Earned Income Tax? A non-discriminatory tax applying to gross compensation and/or net profits which is commonly referred to as a "Wage Tax". It is a tax levied against an individual's earned income and/or net profits whether the income is from the operation of a business or from wages, commissions, or other sources.

1. WHAT IS THE RATE OF TAX? $52.00/per year

2. WHO IS SUBJECT TO THE TAX? Every taxpayer (Resident and Non-resident alike) who are self-employed or whose tax is not subject to withholding by employer, is subject to the EMST.

3. WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS? All taxpayers who are self-employed or whose tax is not subject to employer withholding is to pay the tax at the rate specified on the attached tax return. The tax is to be remitted to the designated collector on or before April 30th. For any person who first becomes subject to the tax and from whom the tax was not previously deducted or paid, payment shall be made no later than the last day of July, October or January for the periods April through June, July through September, and October through December, whichever dates first occurs at least 30 days after the party becomes subject to tax.

4. DO I FILE A REPORT WITH EACH REMITTANCE TO THE COLLECTOR? A report must be transmitted to CENTAX identifying the name, complete address, social security number, the amount of tax paid and any other information required by the collector. The form EMST-3 is to be used for these purposes and you may download the required forms at www.centaxgroup.com.

5. IF I DO NOT RECEIVE NOTICE, AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING THE TAX? Failure to receive notice does not excuse the taxpayer from the filing and/or payment of the taxes. Where the taxpayers fail to pay the taxes then they will be assessed for the total tax, penalty, interest and collection costs. You may download the required forms at www.centaxgroup.com

6. HOW ARE REFUNDS HANDLED? At the year's end, where the taxpayer believes they are entitled to a refund, they should be directed to the CENTAX office. Exemption from the tax is bases on income from all sources during the calendar year. The taxpayer must provide written documentation to the local CENTAX office verifying all sources of income. Valid refunds will be given directly to the taxpayer by CENTAX as the tax officer. For a refund, you may download and EMST refund form by accessing the CENTAX website at www.centaxgroup.com
