East Fallowfield Township's Junior Township Supervisor Program (JTS) is an outstanding opportunity to get youth to participate in the governing process of our community. The East Fallowfield Township Junior Township Supervisor (JTS) Program is a new community program that provides youth in our community with an opportunity to engage in Township government and develop leadership skills. It also allows Township Officials to serve as mentors to students who will be future leaders in our community. The JTS Program allows students the opportunity to learn critical skills including team building and collaboration, public speaking, public engagement, budgeting and running effective meetings. It also allows the student the opportunity to deliberate on issues that are affecting his or her community.
Applicants should be East Fallowfield Township residents but residents of nearby municipalities will be considered as well. Applicant must be a Junior (11th Grade), or Senior (12th Grade), however local college students will be considered as well. Applicant must be willing to serve a one (1) year term to coincide with the duration of the school year.
Applicant should be able to attend all meetings of the Board (Township Board of Supervisors meetings are the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month – 6:30 p.m) and participate in Community events. JTS’s cannot vote or participate in Executive Sessions. Applicant must observe Township Board meeting rules and are encouraged to ask questions, provide comments and make reports.
