We, the East Fallowfield Historic Commission will preserve and protect the buildings, structures and historic sites of our Township which have significant architectural, cultural, archeological, educational and aesthetic merit
We will encourage the preservation of historic settings, buildings and landscapes through identification, documentation and recognition of all historic places and sites.
We will establish a clear process where by proposed land use changes affecting Historic Resources in our community can be reviewed by the other Township Boards.
The East Fallowfield Historic Commission was re-established in 2004.
It is the desire of the commission to continue the extensive research by Peggy Young of the historical resources in our Township and continue to update and amend the list of properties that have significant value within the context of our history. The life work of Peggy Young has been donated to Sue and Garth Monaghan in the hopes that the Township will continue to value the social, economic, transportation and cultural aspects of its' development. Her collection of writings, photographs, documents, newspaper articles and maps are currently housed in the Township building. There are currently 61 properties listed in the Pennsylvania Historic Registry and another 152 properties identified as significant.
