About Codes and Enforcement

For ordinance, code enforcement or for zoning questions call the Township office at 610-635-6292. 

If you would like to make a complaint regarding the Noise Ordinance (2008-02) or cars parked on the street, call the Police Department at 610-384-9163.

Permit Inspection Information and Procedures

All inspections are conducted by the Township, except electrical which are carried out by United Electric. To book an electric inspection call United Electric at 215-542-9977 or fax your request to 215-540-9721. You must provide your name, your address, the date and time and the type of inspection you are requesting.

Please include your name, telephone number, inspection address, type of inspection, and date and time you would like for the inspection. Residential inspections can be scheduled daily between 1pm and 4pm. Commercial inspections are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1pm to 4pm.

Information About Permits

Permit applications are available for pickup at the Township office. The Township will, upon request, mail a permit application for a mailing fee of $5.

It is the resident's / contractor's responsibility to ensure that submitted permit applications are complete.

If your permit application is not complete, it will be denied.

The following projects must have a permit:

• New Home Construction
• Building Additions
• Solar Panels
• Decks
• Patios
• Finished Basements
• Swimming Pools - any size
• Garages
• Barns
• Porches
• Sheds
• Roofs (not siding)
• Windows, if you are increasing the size or putting in an egress window (5.7s.f.)
• Generators/HVAC systems
• Fences

SOLAR PANELS

For roof-mounted solar panels the permit also requires a report from an engineer to certify that the roof will hold the panels.

FENCES

If you are installing a fence under 6 feet high, a zoning application only is required. Fences over 6 feet in height require zoning AND building applications. 

HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATIONS

If you live in a development with an established Home Owners Association, a letter from the HOA must be submitted with your application. 

Any conflicts regarding deed restriction must be dealt with through your HOA. The Township does not have jurisdiction over this issue.
